Stepping into Freedom

Each moment of everyday we make the decision to either step forward into freedom or back into bondage. The bondage is the limitations of our own mind. These limitations were either created by us based on circumstances or events in our life or they were taught to us by someone who did not know any better. The truth is that there are no limitations, except those we choose to believe. We have infinite and unlimited potential.

In my own life I saw this so clearly last night when I was working with my personal fitness trainer Lisa. When I workout by myself, I always do what I have always done before or do what I think I am capable of and I get the same results. I have my own set of limitations on my physical body. I call it the “wall” or “my terror barrier” and this is where I stop each time. Not so when I workout with Lisa. She is always working with me to go beyond my ideas and limitations. Last night it was jumping rope. I said to myself, I can’t do that, I am 57 years old and I have not jumped rope for 30 years. Lisa was thinking “He is capable.” Sure enough, with a little coaching from Lisa, I was able to do 3 sets of 100. Sure, one of the result was I was able to jump rope, but the real result was I felt empowered, alive and full of confidence and I had fun. I had moved to a place a freedom. I achieved a higher level of awareness of who I was and what I was capable of.

The real value of coaching, it is not the goal, but who you become by achieving the goal. It is your path to freedom from old habits and beliefs that keep you in bondage. You are free to be, do and have anything you want without violating the rights of others. I am so confident in the coaching process that I offer a complimentary coaching session to everyone so they can experience the process. If that is something that interests you, I can be contacted at 608-637-6898 or at marty@martymcevoy.com

The poet Rumi writes, “The garden of the world has no limits except in your mind. Its presence is more beautiful than the stars, with more clarity than the polished mirror of your heart” So what is it you really want? Not what you think you can have based on your current results, but what do you really want? If you decide you can have it, then it is yours. You just need to take the first step to freedom.

Ralph Waldo Emerson writes, “We are very near to greatness. One step and we are safe. Can we not take the leap” Decide to take that step. Do it now!!

You Decide, Right Now!

Decision is the starting point of everything in our life. If we want different results in our business or personal life, we must make a decision. So how is it we actually decide?

We decide with our “will” and the more decisions that we make, the stronger our will. The functions of “will” are to decide, place, shift and remove attention. Attention is the creative energy that brings about your reality. Energy flows to where attention goes. In the book, the Science of Getting Rich, by Wallace Wattles http://www.martymcevoy.thesgrprogram.com/ which the movie “The Secret” http://www.thesecret.tv/ was based on, he writes the following: “Since belief is all important, it behooves you to guard your thoughts. And, as your beliefs will be shaped to a great extent by the things you observe and think about, it is important that you focus your attention. Here the will comes into use, because by means of your will, you determine the objects of your attention.” He goes on to write, “Use your mind to form a mental image of what you want and to hold that vision with faith and purpose. Use your will to keep your mind working the right way.”

There are certain things that strengthen the will and certain things that weaken the will. Some of them are as follows:

Strengthen
1. Making decisions
2. Traditional foods www.westonaprice.org
3. Faith in yourself

Weaken
1. Poor diet
2. Television and video games
3. Letting someone else make your decisions

In A Course In Miracles it says, “The power of decision is your own” Decide today what you really want, and if you do, I can show you how to get it.

Decision and Committment

I wanted to continue my theme on decision and discuss another part of decision and that is commitment. If we do really want change, we need to be committed. We need to say to ourselves, “I will do whatever it takes to accomplish my goal, no matter what” We need to give up something of a lower value to achieve something of a higher value. In A Course in Miracles it says that “Miracles come from conviction”

I think one of the best pieces I have ever read on commitment is from W. H. Murray discussing his expedition to the summit of Mt. Everest. He says: “Until one is committed there’s hesitancy, the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness. Concerning all acts of initiative, and creation, there is one elementary truth, the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: That the moment one definitely commits oneself then Providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one’s favor all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamt would come his way. I have learned a deep respect for one of Goethe’s concepts: "Whatever you can do, or dream you can do, Begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it."

So what do you really want? Sit quietly and ask yourself the question “What do I really want” Let it come to the surface of your consciousness. Then make a decision to go for what you want and take the first step. Then and only then will you see the miracle.

Watch this! From "The Secret"

The Power of Decision

Hello, my name is Marty McEvoy and I founded company called Practical Empowerment, LLC, you can learn more about me at http://www.martymcevoy.com/. It is my belief that you have the power to change you life, not tomorrow, but today. In fact right now. You are meant to be, do and have all that you want without violating the rights of others. So what is it that you really want? Think, real thinking, what is it that you really want? What kind of income do you want to have? What about your vacations? Where do you want to go and when? What kind of health do you want to have? I remember one of the most revealing moments in my life, was when I was still and quite and I heard a little voice say, “You are the maker of your dream” I took that literally to mean “I decide.”

To have what you really want, you must make a decision to have what you really want. Not what you think you can have based on your current situation, but what you really want. You must decide. My business partner, long time friend and teacher Bob Proctor (http://www.bobproctor.com/) from the movie “The Secret” says that success and decision are partners. You cannot have one without the other. The problem is most people do not go after what they want because they fail to make the decision to go after it. Decision is the single mental move you can make to improve any personal or business situation, and literally propel you down the path to success. “Destiny is not a matter of chance, it is a matter of choice; it is not a thing to be waited for, it is a thing to be achieved,” says writer William Jennings Bryan.

I tell all of my clients to decide today what they really want and to make the decision to go after it. Be committed and say, “I will do what ever it takes to accomplish my goal. I tell everyone to set their intention, leave the how to God, and know that there are limitless resources to support their vision. In fact, you cannot want something, without having the ability to achieve it.

Visualize what you want, trust, take the action necessary in the present moment and have faith that you will achieve it. All things are possible. You just need to decide what it is you want. You need to decide today, in fact right now. Then, watch your life change.
